Kentucky Lake Cowboy Church  began as Clay Campbell felt the Lord leading him to follow the Great Commission into some kind of missionary work.  Through much prayer and searching the Lord lead Clay to a meeting with two Cowboy Preachers: Chris Clarke and Jerry Reynolds. The first service was June 2010 and we constituted as a Church with 38 charter members August 2011.

What is Cowboy Church?

Cowboy Churches have been around since the days of the Old West. They were a time of worship for cowboys who couldn’t attend church services due to their daily tasks. Whether a barn, a corral, a spot on the open range, it was an opportunity for the cowboy to worship God and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today’s Cowboy Churches have evolved in order to meet the needs of a much wider group of worshipers. Cowboy Churches today are reaching people who like what the cowboy culture stands for. Many are not “official” cowboys or cowgirls but are linked to the cowboy culture in some way.

The dress code is very casual and many wear jeans, boots, western shirt and hat. All who attend share a love for gospel music with a hand-clapping, foot-stomping country and/or bluegrass flavor.

We worship God freely while presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have never
accepted God’s free gift of grace.
